I’m thrilled to announce that the Minoru Jacket pattern is now in stock! After a tremendously successful pre-sale, too! I’m still adding up the final numbers but it was by far the best pre-sale yet. When I get the patterns printed, I get a small amount delivered sooner, so I can fill pre-orders first. This time around, I had to ask for twice as many patterns delivered early just to fill all of the pre-orders!
So thank you to everyone that pre-ordered a Minoru Jacket pattern. Your orders are on their way!
Click here to visit the store. Look how nice the pattern store page looks with four patterns in it! It’s great to have a fourth pattern to finish off that row of images. (Imagine if there were eight patterns? Twelve patterns? I look forward to filling up the page with new patterns in the coming year!)
I’m super excited to add the Minoru Jacket to the current collection. We’re starting to build a wardrobe of patterns here! The Minoru Jacket would look great with the Crescent Skirt and a tee shirt. (Add thick, warm tights and you could even cycle in that outfit!) Or dress up a wool-blend Minoru Jacket with a ruffled Pendrell blouse and a pencil skirt. So many possibilities!
Have an awesome day and if you wanted to pick up a copy of the Minoru Jacket, click here to visit the store!
UPDATE: A couple of people asked if you can pay by credit card, if you don’t have a Paypal account. Yes! Just click ‘Checkout with Paypal’ and you’ll have the option to pay as a guest, without creating an account.
Having trouble with the shopping cart? Contact me and we’ll sort it out. Thanks, everyone!

Yay! Really looking forward to getting mine and can’t wait for the sew along, gives me something to look forward to after Christmas!
My thoughts exactly! First we get to look forward to the holidays, next the sew along!
can’t wait!!! i saw mine had shipped :-)
Hi Tasia,
I hope this is not a weird question. How did you come up with numbering your patterns? I’m taking a stab here. Is it by year followed by the order of the pattern released?
You’re right! 11 is for the year, 03 is because it’s the third pattern this year. It’s not a weird question at all!
Cool. I’m gonna buy a copy of this pattern. Hopefully I can churn out a guy version of the Minoru Jacket!
That’s fantastic Tasia! You’ve come a long way since I began following you earlier this year. I’m so happy for your success. I know you worked hard for it.
I’m excited to receive my patterns; I ordered the Pendrell too. I’ve been drooling over it for so long! Thanks!!
Thanks so much! It sure has been an exciting year so far – you’re right, plenty of hard work, but so many good things too!
Yay for a dispatch email! Can’t wait for the pattern and the sew along!
I’m looking forward to sewing along with you too! It’s going to be fun!
Whee! My pattern has been dispatched! Thanks Tasia! I’m so looking forward to the sewalong! It’s perfect timing, something to do after Christmas, AND I’ll hopefully have a lighter spring jacket in time for it actually being spring (unlike my normal routine, which means I’ll finish a summer dress just in time for autumn!)
I finally got one on order, I succeeded, YAY! I am pumped for the sew along and Joann’s is having a sale on their “Outdoor” canvas….I am thinking this might work if I use a really cozy and soft lining. Awesome.
I’m so excited about this pattern! It’s going to be perfect for the drizzly Portland winters. I’m looking forward to participating in the sew-along, too. (It will be my first!) Thanks so much for hard work in creating and publishing this pattern!
i can’t get the pattern store to work! i want to buy the pendrell blouse and the minoru jacket, and the cart won’t change from having two minoru jackets in it and the taxes being for canada. then when i go to checkout, one minoru jacket pattern is there but i can’t get the blouse. i’ve tried in two different browsers, so i think something’s up!
okay, right after i wrote that comment it started working! so YAYAYAY! :)
Oh good! I was just about to send you an email. It’s been a bit temperamental today, the shopping cart, go figure when I am trying to launch a new pattern! I’m glad it worked for you. If it ever doesn’t work for you again, just let me know and we’ll make it work!
Hi T! Just and fyi, i tried paying the Minoru pattern through paypal (many attempts) but the transaction didn’t go through. I’ll try again tomorrow. Also, congrats on the new pattern! Can’t wait to make one or two Minoru for I =D!!
Hi Susan! It looks like it worked for you now, I got a confirmation this morning for your order. I’ll send you an official confirmation once your order’s in the mail!
Indeed it did!! Thank you so much!
It must be so much fun to come into your office each day and see your patterns in their pretty colors on the shelves! Can’t wait to receive my pattern :)
It is! It looks lovely with blue, green, pink and yellow patterns filling my little bookcase. So cheerful! That’s probably why so many people poke theiir heads into my office and say hi – all of the bright colours!
Absolutely CANNOT wait! I got SO excited when I opened my email and had the shipping notification. AAAH!
Awesome! You’re in Canada so it should get to you very quickly!
Hey Tasia! I’m super excited to make the Jacket for my friend, as she loves sporty coats, and ordered this as soon as I was able to. However, I’m a guy and I like the overall line of the jacket, so I’m thinking of altering the pattern (namely taking out the elastic and fulness at the waist, and making it more fitted with a slashed dart that I’ll add in) to fit my male body type. Any thoughts on wether or not this would be a good idea?
Wow, good question. This jacket’s definitely cut for a woman, and a woman with curvy hips especially! Kind of the opposite of a man’s shape.
My biggest concern would be the shoulders – the raglan sleeves are shaped for a woman’s frame, not the broad shoulders of a man. I also like the look of set-in sleeves on a man’s jacket better than raglan sleeves, for a stronger shoulder line. But It all depends on how comfortable you are with pattern adjustments. For me, the thought of altering this pattern to fit Mr Sewaholic seems too massive an undertaking. If you like the style of the jacket and feel up to the challenge, go for it! I’d pick a larger size to account for the shoulders, skip the waistline elastic and taper the body at the hips – you’ll see the pattern widens at the hips for a more pear-shaped body. Take a look at the finished measurements on the back of the pattern and compare them to a jacket you like to see how much adjusting you’ll have to do.
Good luck! I’d love to hear about it if you do make a men’s Minoru!
Thanks Tasia! I’ll be sure to keep you updated on the alterations, and obviously the finished product!
I can¬¥t believe that my pattern already arrived!!! I live in Brazil…..
SOOOOO HAPPY and can´t wait to get started!
Looking foward for the sewalong.
Mine came in the blink of an eye as well…I ordered it at the end of last week and I got it on Monday! Super excited.
I’ve asked for this pattern for Christmas. I’m really hoping to get it. I think I’ll make it my first sew along as well!!
