Lonsdale Sew-Along: Save 10% on Fabric at Sewtropolis!

Great news! Sewtropolis is offering a discount on fabric for the Lonsdale Sew-Along! From now until the end of the sew-along, (August 18th) visit Sewtropolis’s Etsy shop and receive 10% off your fabric order when you use the coupon code ‘Lonsdale.’

If there’s a fabric you like, there is often more in-stock, and they’re happy to set up a custom listing for you. Just convo the Sewtropolis team and they’ll help you out!

Here are some of my favourites from the shop:

A lovely floral voile called Heaven’s Edge – what a pretty name! (Click the image to check out the listing.)

Another floral print that’s more subtle, in pretty shades of blue. It almost looks like dots instead of flowers from far away! (Click the image to check out the listing.)

Can you tell I really like printed fabrics for this dress? This fabulous rose-print cotton is so fun! (Click the image to check out the listing.)

Laura from Sewtropolis will be following the Lonsdale Sew-Along and posting her adventures on the Sewtropolis blog, and on the Sewtropolis Facebook page. Pretty exciting to have our retailers following along with the Sew-Along!

Click here to browse the shop. A huge thanks to Nikol from Sewtropolis for this thoughtful special offer!

Those fabrics are much cuter than my free pile I got from a friend. There is only so much you can do with free scrap fabric.

I might have to take you up on this discount!!

I am waiting for my Lonsdale dress pattern to arrive. I am so excited!!! It is such a unique dress. I may join in the Sew-a-Long. I am going to look for fabric tomorrow. Thanks for this link to Sewtropolis. I have never heard of them.

I love that you use prints – even though I always tell myself I should make sensible mix and match solids I cannot resist a print.

I’ve never been very attracted by floral prints but i find really really beautiful – how girly and poetic! – the one called Heaven’s Edge :)

Hi Tasia! I have another sew along question. I found a lovely rayon in a fun print that I think will be a perfect match for this dress. However, I have never sewn with rayon and it wasn’t one of the recommended fabrics – do you think it will work? (I know you will be covering fabric next week, but I wanted to take care of the shopping when it fit in my schedule). Thanks.

@Annabelle: Hi Annabelle! Yes, you could use a rayon for this dress. It will be softer and drapier than using cotton or linen. As long as you don’t mind a drapier, flowier dress, rayon would be just fine! I’m making the long version in a rayon print myself. Hope this helps!

@Tasia: Awesome! Thanks Tasia. I have heard a lot more people in the sewing blogsphere mention using rayon, and when I saw this print I thought it would be perfect for this dress, so I am glad to know that it will work.
