Some people don’t make a big deal out of their birthday, hoping it will pass without anyone noticing. Not my sister Sofia!
A month before, we’ll hear reminders about her upcoming birthday, discussions about what she’d like for dinner, and of course gift requests usually involving puppies. It wouldn’t be the same if she didn’t get super excited every year!
I don’t often post on a Sunday but I wanted to send a shout-out to her on her big day.
Especially because she’s been amazing recently: designing the Sewaholic logo, helping with the new and improved site design, and sharing her expertise on another project I’m working on.
She’s a brilliant graphic designer with a great sense of style. I’m lucky to have such a talented sister. And she sews, too! Look at the beautiful creations she’s made this year.

Love the blue dress! Can you tell us what pattern it’s from?
Did she steal your Las Magaritas pattern or did you steal hers? ;-) It’s beautiful in both colours!
Happy Birthday to Sofia! She has some cute creations too, Love her colour choice :-) And I’m with Alana, Who stole the Las Magaritas pattern?? tee hee
Harro!!!!
THANK YOUUUUUUUUU! Don’t you think I was surprisingly quiet this year?
And doing the sewaholic logo was a treat, anything to help out my sister. :) I’m a lucky girl to have such a rad sister!!!
Thanks Tasia!
That magenta number is fabulous! Hope she had a great day.
I love her version of 9668 – gorgeous!
So busted! The blue dress is Vogue 9668 and she totally made it first :)
@woolcat: Vogue 9668 is the pattern she used for the blue dress, which inspired me to make my Las Margaritas dress in red!
OMG!! I love what she’s sewn!!
Especially the fuschia ruffles!
Happy birthday to her ;o)
Creativity and sewing mojo obviously runs in the family. :)
Except me! I’m the non-sewer ;) I try to make up for it with compulsive baking though.
I’m late to catch this post, but happy birthday again, sister!
