Eyelet is the perfect summertime fabric, don’t you think? It’s lightweight, it’s soft and cottony, and it’s full of holes!

Doortje’s lovely Cambie dress is perfect for summer, then! I quite like this photo, too. It shows off the dress while looking natural, like she’s daydreaming on vacation. I love my bright prints and bold colours, but a dress in a soft neutral like this is great for everyday wear. Dress it up with cardigans, jackets, scarves, and belts for different looks!
Click here to visit her blog. She’s also written up a separate post on making the muslin, and styled her dress for cold weather too. Thanks Doortje for being a pattern tester!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

This is my favourite version by far!
I’m eyeing up a navy broderie anglaise at the moment as I’ve always wanted a summer dress made from eyelet fabric. A contrast lining could add a flash of colour too!
Doortje’s dress is beautiful and classic. And looks very different to the other versions that have been shared, despite being the same pattern!
This is the version that made me buy the pattern!
This is a beautiful version. Eyelet is such a lovely summer fabric.
The eyelet is so beautiful and perfect for the dress.
I also agree that the Cambie is beautifully done in eyelet. A truly wonderful choice of fabric. Might I add that I love Doortje’s haircut, I will have the photo in hand the next time that I visit the salon. That too, is a perfect choice for her…..and me!
Each of the dresses were beautiful. Since I tend to lean to solid colors near my face I think this one might be the winner. The eyelet is an inspired choice. You have certainly brought out the best in this dress Tasia.
Droool to the eyelet! So gorgeous!!
I love this dress. The fabric Doortje used makes the dress! Eyelet is always a classic. I really like the design of the eyelet fabric. Amazing!
Beautiful eyelet! Beautiful dress!
Thank you all for the lovely comments, and Tasia for sharing my Cambie dress which I’m sure will be the favorite piece in my closet for this summer!
Ooh is that version ever pretty!!
I love this fabric! Prints do not suit me at all so this would be perfect as it is a solid colour but with interest! Makes it very feminine without being too little girly! Such a versatile pattern!
I love this version! The fabric really makes this garment.
hi – love the dress. I want to make my daughter’s first holy communion dress and I’m new to Vancouver and trying to find stockings of embroidery anglaise fabrics. Can anyone help me?
