Debbie’s Alma Blouse

Want to see more Alma Blouse projects, especially the long-sleeved version? You got it! Debbie who blogs at Sew I Think I Can Sew picked View C for her pattern testing blouse.

What I like about Debbie’s blouse was her fabric choice. It’s the sort of fabric that says ‘summer dress’ to me, but I love the idea of using it for a blouse instead. She’s already worn it several times, which is the mark of a successful sewing project in my mind. See more on her blog here!

I like that a lot. As you say, inspired fabric choice. What a fun top!

Great fabric choice! The long sleeves are nice too.

Ooo! Love it. What a nice season transition piece with long sleeves but an airy print. That little red bit on the left part of the collar and shoulder looked like a little bow at first glance. I’m inspired to make this with a little bow offset on the collar now… In a more solid fabric so it shows off nicely.

I haven’t had time to post comments recently but each of the blouses are so lovely. What a versatile pattern. I also particularly like the fabrication on this one, perfect for summer!

This is lovely. The bright fabric works well to make it a transition piece. All of these Almas are so flattering.

I love when you put up posts featuring other peoples’ takes on your patterns! How about a little gallery of these for each pattern in your pattern store? I think people would love to see all the variations when they are thinking of purchasing your patterns :)
You could make it separate from your “official” photos of your creations. Just a thought! :)

    Love the blouse!

Hi Jo! Great to hear you enjoy seeing everyone’s versions of the patterns. I love the idea of having a gallery in the pattern store, just like Colette Patterns, but I don’t have the technical capabilities at this point. It’s a great idea for the future and I’ll keep that in mind – thanks for the suggestion!
      Cheers,

    Hi Tasia!

    Thanks for the great blog!

I began my sew classes in brazil the last month! I love it!

But I need a little help, if can of course.

My teacher has a “standart” pattern for kids, adults and is the “basic” pattern for all kind of chothes and not a “specific” pattern as I always see. My aunt will come to Brazil and could bring me one but I don´t´know the name to look for it in internet. Do you know the name of it? Did I explain what I am looking for? (My English is poor, sorry)!

    Thank you so much!!

    Julie

Hi Julie! Thank you, I am glad you enjoy the blog!
Regarding your question, I’m not sure I know what you are looking for. If it is for a class, I would ask the teacher what you need for the class, so you bring the right thing.
The only thing I could think of would be a fitting shell – http://butterick.mccall.com/b5627-products-13768.php?page_id=155 – it’s a basic pattern block designed to work out fitting for your body and then the fitting changes are applied to other patterns.
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
