Happy birthday! I had a big party for my 30th with my BFF and my husband (then boyfriend). We were all born in the same year, DH in February and my BFF and I four days apart in September. When we turned 40 my DH had his own party in February, but BFF and repeated the tradition. While I'm not a big party person I think holidays, anniversaries, big birthdays are landmarks in life that deserve to be celebrated and remembered. I hope you had a memorable day!

Happy Birthday Tasia!
I will celebrate my 30th in November this year... Birthdays are always a bit special as i have a twin sister... No plans yet but maybe we take the chance and make something a bit bigger than the ususal family dinner...
By the way, i got asked for ID last year on holiday in New Zealand, where my husband is from and the legal age is 18, and also some time last year here in Switzerland, where we live, and where the legal age for wine and beer is 16!
Also, i took the chance to finally order some of your patterns... i was just holding off because i have other things to finish first (two quilts...) ... Thank you for the big discount!
Greetings from Switzerland

Happy birthday! I turned 30 not too long ago and went out with my sister and cousins in my yet-unworn Catherine Malandrino dress. I'm not normally into designer clothing but got suckered into it during a sample event and hadn't worn it yet so it was kind of just as good as wearing something I made myself! Anyway, how great that we're the same age, I can rely on your designs to keep me hip :)

P.S. I can't believe Christine Haynes is in her 40s, no way! Totally would've guessed early 30s, go Christine!

Happy happy birthday, Tasia! I turned 30 two months ago, and didn't do anything fancy - museums in LA, and dinner with friends in the evening. I don't look 30 either, and getting carded is always infinitely amusing. I hope today is a wonderful and relaxing day for you =)

Dear Tasia! Happy happy birthday! In your 30 you've achieved much more than most people of your age did! I wish you continue with the same pace and achieve much more in the future!

In exactly two weeks I am turning 32 (OMG). 30th party I celebrated with my close friends. I went to a toy shop and bough lots of children's handcraft kits (ceramics, plasticine, knitting) and also books for coloring. People did not expect it at all but everybody had so much fun coloring, decorating ceramic items, knitting etc. It reminded us when we were little kiddies. Several days after that party I was permanently moving to Tokyo, so I was dressed up like a crazy Japanese girl: wearing neon turquoise dress and pink wig. That was probably my best birthday party so far. I would be bored spending it in a restaurant behaving as a "grown up" ;)

I'm a member there, (ilse466), and I enjoy it, though it IS quiet, as some people have said. However, that can change when more people join, and actually stay to use it.
I love browsing other people's projects, it's very inspiring.

I live in Madison, WI, a medium-sized city (I guess). I live downtown, so my closest fabric store is technically a quilting store that's only about a mile and a half away, but last time I was in there they didn't have a great selection for notions--however they're quite near my parents' house and Trader Joe's so I'm sure I'll have an opportunity to poke my head in again soon. There's another little local place a little further away, 15-20 mins by bike, where the main advantages are that she doesn't sell crap and she keeps Colette patterns in stock. Most of what I've bought there is cotton prints that have more apparel than quilter appeal, but if I needed silk fast (or she had a sale on) I could pick it up there. Also, Hancock Fabrics is about 5 miles away and pretty accessible by bike and bus; we have two JoAnn's in town but they're way out by the malls, in the suburban wasteland where it sucks to bike and the buses run infrequently so I usually beg a ride from my parents if I need to go out there.

I am a design student, though, so even though it's not a chore to get some kinds of fabric I don't find the local selection particularly satisfactory; me and my classmates fantasize about opening a fabric store downtown, shopping at Mood in New York (yes we all watch Project Runway), and are thinking about getting together an expedition to Vogue Fabrics in the Chicago area.
